Where to stay for Ghibli Park and LEGOLAND Japan with a car
Ghibli Park is about 35 minutes away and LEGOLAND Japan about 25. Spend the day at the park, then come back to a whole house with a kitchen, a washer-dryer, futons for the little ones and a quiet garden view.

Ghibli Park — about 35 min
Ghibli Park lies inside Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park in Nagakute. Its five areas are spread across the park, so it is a walking day rather than a ride day. Before you plan around it:
- All tickets must be reserved in advance; there are no sales at the park. Tickets go on sale two months ahead, on the 10th at 2 PM Japan time.
- The park is closed on Tuesdays (the next weekday if Tuesday is a holiday). Check the official calendar for other closures.
- Children aged 0–3 enter free. The indoor Grand Warehouse has two play areas for children 12 and under.
- There is no Ghibli Park car park. Use the Expo park car parks, about 2,400 spaces at ¥500 a day (¥1,000 on weekends and holidays) as of November 2026.
LEGOLAND Japan — about 25 min
LEGOLAND Japan is on the Nagoya waterfront and is designed for children aged 2 to 12. Many rides let smaller children ride with an adult, and under-3s don't need a ticket.
- 1-day passes are for a set date, and prices change with the day. The park has non-operating days, so check its calendar.
- Next door is SEA LIFE Nagoya, a compact aquarium. The Port of Nagoya Aquarium, with an orca and dolphins, is about 30 minutes from Hanaike and closed on Mondays (next day if a holiday; open daily in Golden Week, July–September and school holidays).
- No park car park: drivers use Kinjo Futo Parking nearby.

Made for families

- Baby chair with straps and tray, table corner guards, and books and toys for different ages
- Futons on tatami in the downstairs Japanese room, plus two semi-double beds upstairs
- Free washer-dryer, so you can pack light
- Kitchen with rice cooker, IH stove, microwave and tableware, and supermarkets a short drive away
- Blackout curtains for naps after a long park morning
- Kids under 3 stay free. If you're unsure how to enter the guest count, ask us via Airbnb message
- Free parking for 2 cars on the grounds (enter via the parking-side gate)
Why stay out here rather than in central Nagoya
Ghibli Park is on the eastern side of the Nagoya area and LEGOLAND on the port to the south-west. From Hanaike, close to the expressway, both are a 25–35 minute drive, and the car stays in the free parking for 2 cars on the grounds (enter via the parking-side gate). There is no car park to pay for overnight and no hotel lift to squeeze a stroller into. The whole house is yours, so a toddler waking at 5 AM bothers no one.
A relaxed family plan
- Day 1, afternoon: Check in from 3 PM, make a Nespresso and let the kids explore the house and garden view.
- Day 2: A full day at LEGOLAND Japan. Dinner at a local restaurant 5–10 minutes away; many close around 9 PM.
- Day 3: Ghibli Park at your reserved time slot, with a picnic on the Expo park lawns.
- Day 4: Check out at 11 AM. Chubu Centrair Airport is about 35 minutes away.
Ghibli Park is closed on Tuesdays and the Port of Nagoya Aquarium on Mondays (next day if a holiday; open daily in Golden Week, July–September and school holidays), so check both before you fix the order.
